Lakai Vinson is a partner at Wooden Bowers Vinson PLLC. Lakai practices in the area of Personal Injury, Worker’s Compensation and Civil Litigation. Lakai is a native North Carolinian. Lakai attended Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia where she attained her Bachelors of Psychology. Lakai is a 2008 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Law.
Lakai is licensed to practice in both the North Carolina and Virginia Courts.
While Lakai focuses on civil litigation, she also makes herself available to individuals who cannot afford traditional legal costs, by practicing as a court appointed attorney within the Mecklenburg County Courts.
Lakai is a recipient of the Super Lawyers “Rising Star” Award (2015-2020) and Virginia Young Lawyer’s Superstar award (2010). She was also named the American Institute of Legal Counsel, 10 Best Personal Injury Attorneys (2015) and received the third largest verdict of 8 million dollars in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2015.
Lakai has served in multiple capacities in the legal community and community at large. She has dedicated herself to the improvement of the bar by serving in multiple leadership positions and continues to dedicate herself to the improvement of the community. Her most recent role includes her position as a Board Member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Foundation and Co-President of the John S. Leary Bar Association, the leading minority bar association in Charlotte, North Carolina.
